June 2, 2025June Newsletter: National Adopt a Cat Month, National Foster a Pet Month and More!

Celebrate National Adopt a Cat Month with the MontCo SPCA!
June is National Adopt a Cat Month and we’re getting our claws out and slashing adoptions fees to $25 for adult cats 4-years-old or older! Cats are excellent, loving companions that have personalities to fit every unique home. Whether you want an aloof roommate or a Velcro crony, you can find a feline whose friendship fits your vibe. Help us weather the height of kitten season and adopt a new friend right meow!
June is also National Foster a Pet Month!
Ever thought about opening your home and heart to an animal in need? Volunteer Fostering saves lives by providing pets with a safe, loving environment while they wait for their new families. At the MontCo SPCA there are so many ways to help by fostering in a way that fits your life – from short-term to more extended stays – we provide everything you need to help your foster pet thrive! Call and talk with our Volunteer and Foster Coordinator Damon March to learn more!
Why foster?
- You save lives. Every foster home opens up valuable shelter space, allowing more animals to receive care and a second chance.
- You help pets thrive. Animals often feel less stressed and can learn important social and household skills in a home environment.
- You enjoy companionship. Fostering brings the joy of having a pet without the long-term commitment of adoption.
- You make a lasting impact. Your time, love, and care help prepare pets for successful adoptions and brighter futures.
- You support your community. Fosters are a critical part of the animal welfare network, helping shelters and rescues care for more pets in need.
This June, consider becoming a foster for the MontCo SPCA. A temporary home can make a lifetime of difference for a homeless pet. Apply to be a Volunteer Foster at the link below.
Welcome New Staff!

Jordan Mostofizadeh-Hricko
Clinic Client Service Representative
Meet Jordan Mostofizadeh-Hricko (Most-of-is-ah-day-Ree-ko)! She’s the first voice you’ll hear when you call the SPCA’s vet clinic in her role as our Clinic Client Service Representative. Before making the switch to veterinary medicine, Jordan worked in human medicine as a home health aide and pharmacy technician. After moving, she decided to take a chance on pet medicine, and says, “I’ve fallen in love with this field. Helping pets and the people who love them has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to continue growing in this field.”
When she’s not at work, you can usually find her hiking with her dog, Kallie, or spending time at the beach. She’s excited for her next chapter in veterinary medicine and looks forward to meeting the MontCo community and their pets!

Featured Adoptable Friends

Jackson
Conshohocken
Male, ~1 Year Old
Terrier, American Pit Bull
Sweet, smart, playful, loving, and a little shy at first – Jackson is worth getting to know! He loves toys, learning, fetching, and getting lots of snuggles from his people. Don’t let his reserved nature dissuade you upon your first meeting. You’ll fall in love, and so will he, with patience and a little time, not too much, though, he warms up pretty quickly.
If you’re interested in being Jackson’s companion, home, and heart he is available for adoption, foster, or rescue release. Call or come in to the Conshohocken location. Our Behavior and Training Coordinator, Christy, would LOVE to talk to you about him (he’s a favorite!).

Mrs. Whiskers
Perkiomenville
Female, ~4 Years Old
Domestic Medium Hair
Mrs. Whiskers is an indoor cat who has lived successfully with other cats and done well with children, making her the kind of cat who already understands how to share her space and be part of a family. She has never lived with dogs, so we aren’t sure how she would feel about canine roommates.
Mostly, Mrs. Whiskers seems like a cat who is simply looking to settle back into home life again. She’s affectionate, familiar with indoor living, and at a wonderful age where her personality is already well established without the nonstop chaos of kittenhood.

Roman
Conshohocken
Female, ~1 Year Old
Terrier, American Pit Bull
Roman is young, playful, and snuggly and he’s hoping you’ll give him a shot!
On his days out with our volunteers he’s the best boy! He rides well in the car, enjoys his pup cup, plays, and then tucks himself in for some afternoon snugs. This could be your life with Roman, and what a sweet life it would be with a guy who has an incredibly expressive face and rich chocolate-brown coat, complete with classic patch over one eye. He is a real head-turner.
He’s also a “leaner” who’ll press his shoulder against your leg, melting into bliss when you give him a good butt rub! Whether you’d like a walking buddy or a chill cuddle bug who’ll make you laugh, Roman is ready for YOU.

Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Anna Cramer!

Anna Cramer was born and raised in Montgomery County, PA. She is an alumna of Temple University where she works as an Admissions Counselor. Outside of work, she keeps busy with her six-year-old Staffy/Pittie mix, Bessie, exploring new places together, finding beautiful trails, reading, and crafting.
Her love for animals naturally led her to volunteer at the SPCA, where she dotes on dogs of all kinds but has a special soft spot for bully breeds. During her year-long tenure, Anna has loved getting the dogs out for walks on-site, but she really enjoys taking them home for short foster stays and getting to know their personalities outside of the shelter environment. She says, “Volunteering and spending time with the dogs is something I look forward to every week. I love connecting with dogs, getting to know each of their unique personalities and quirks, and working with them on positive behaviors. My current favorites are Roman and Jackson. Roman because of his cuddly personality and goof, and Jackson for his sharp intellect and charismatic demeanor.”
