Get Help

We understand that making the decision to give up your pet can be very difficult and there are often many reasons that people may need to surrender their pets. The MCSPCA is here to help by offering a caring, compassionate pet admissions program free of judgement. We may be able to assist you if you are Montgomery County resident or if your pet was originally adopted from one of our MCSPCA shelters. All animal admissions do require an appointment. Without an appointment process, we would have no control over the number of pets arriving at our shelters each day which in turn would limit our ability to provide the best care and outcome for the animals in our shelters.
If your pet was adopted from another shelter, rescue, or obtained from a private breeder you should contact them for assistance first. Shelters and rescues are independently operated, and animals should be returned the original adoption agency when possible.
Please be advised that we cannot accept animals with bite histories, animal and/or human aggression, or significant behavioral issues into our adoption program. Please contact us to discuss what options we may be able to assist with.
If you need admissions assistance, please fill out the admissions request questionnaire and our team will be in contact with you shortly.

Animal Protection Services
Animal Cruelty Investigations
MCSPCA HSPOs thoroughly investigate complaints of animal cruelty and/or neglect within Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and ensure animals are being cared for in accordance with PA law. Our agency's HSPOs may issue written warnings and order a change in care, issue citations, and in extreme cases, may seize animals and file applicable charges against the offender(s).
Animals that are seized during animal cruelty investigations find safe haven at the MCSPCA and are provided with love, kindness, and necessary medical care from the moment they arrive. These animals may spend days or even months in the care of the MCSPCA while an outcome is awaited through the court system. This process is tedious and expensive and the MCSPCA relies on the support of our communities to continue this lifesaving work.
